Welcome to your new website!

23 January 2010

Blogging at COP 15After consulting with girls and young women around the world, WAGGGS has redeveloped its website to become more focused on connecting girls together, making it easier for girls to participate in global campaigns and highlighting the international opportunities and programmes available for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

Hundreds of thousands of girls and young women in over 100 countries have already enjoyed exploring the website since its launch in 2005. Now there are more things to do, more ways to share your stories and photos and more ways to learn about Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting in 145 countries.

What’s new?

Swapping badges online or leaving map coordinates to hidden centenary treasure is now possible! You can now add your name to a centenary activity or you can create your own activity for others to do. You can track how many activities you have done, those with the most get into the hall of fame! You can also see how many other girls around the world joined your activity!

You can also send us your news stories and events with just one click, and check the events that are coming up on our newly designed calendar.

The Our World section contains more information than ever about our 145 Member Organizations so learning about Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting around the world has never been easier!

Micro sites and members’ area

The regional and World Centres micro sites have also been re-launched and have the latest news and events from around the world. The World Thinking Day website includes all you need to know to prepare for the event and fundraise. 22 February is less than a month away so make sure you visit soon!

The member’s area is a place where volunteers, Member Organizations, staff, supporters and friends can gather to find information and tools and work together to help deliver the Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting experience around the world. The new site will enable members to share success stories and best practice, to provide resources such as toolkits, promotional material and partner profiles and to recognize the great contributions of leaders who tirelessly volunteer to provide opportunities to girls and young women.

We will continue to develop the site so please be patient with us as we sort out any new glitches.

Tell us what you think about the new website by doing the quick poll on the home page or writing a comment in the section below. We will continue to listen to your great ideas and make the website even better!

Enjoy!

The new website is fantastic. Now it's very easy for guides like us to gather information needed for our projects. Thanks a lot!

Greetings!
I find the new website way much better and easier to use compared to the previous one :-). I used to get pretty confused while searching for information.
Thanks and congratulations.

best regards from Swaziland.
