About Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting

Canada fun.jpgWith ten million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from 146 countries across the world, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is the largest voluntary movement dedicated to girls and young women in the world. Brownies Canada.jpgGirl Guiding and Girl Scouting are open to all girls and young women whatever their religion, ethnic group or background. A Girl Guide or Girl Scout accepts the Promise and the Law based on spiritual values, personal development and commitment to helping others.

What we do

ireland2.jpgThe World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts works with many national, regional and international organizations and alliances to further its mission to enable girls and young women to develop to their fullest potential and become responsible citizens of the world. It has partnered with the United Nations for over 60 years. JLS Kenya Brownies.jpgThrough its Member Organizations and through working directly with girls and young women, WAGGGS delivers high quality non-formal educational programmes and international opportunities that provide girls and young women dynamic, flexible and values-based training in life skills, leadership and citizenship.

Your expertise, skills, interests, life experience, and availability are needed! Without the commitment of the nearly 1.5 million volunteers around the world, Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting could not happen.

I joined in Holland, then moved to perth WA Australia then eventually Karratha. I was a guide for 9wks in Karratha before moving to Melbourne AU. At fifteen I became a jnr leader, then assistant leader at 18, then a leader at 20. I left when I got married at 23. I then moved to Preston and was a unit helper until the birth of my dd. She is now 7 1/2 and is a guide herself. She has just finished her Service Flash 1 and loves going to Guides each week!

Hello girls! I just wanna express my thoughts. We just finished our Cadet Training and in a month or so, we are going to be the future Cadet Scouts who would continue running the spirit of Girl Guides in school. More power to GIRL GUIDES around the world!
