Message from the planning team

Jambo from Kenya!

The Juliette Low Seminar is well under way in Kenya. The planning team of Heather Roggeveen – Co-chair (New Zealand), Nadine Kaze – Co-chair (Burundi), María Plaza (Venezuela), Rose Kioko (Kenya), Linden Edgell (Deputy Chair World Board - Australia), Nadine El Achy (World Board Member – Lebanon) and WAGGGS staff members: Lydia Mutare, Alphonsine Kabagabo, Anne Rise and Vanessa Gyasi, have put together an amazing programme for our participants.

History has been made with this JLS – the first time in Africa, the first time outside of a World Centre and the largest ever. We have 65 participants from 62 countries and representation from all regions. Africa has 26 participants, Arab 5, Asia Pacific 11, Europe 13 and Western Hemisphere 10.

We have an amazing group of young women. The atmosphere is charged with enthusiasm and we are hopeful for some fantastic projects at the end of the week. On behalf of the planning team – thank you for investing in these young women. They really are the future of our organisation and if this is the calibre of young leaders we have out there, then WAGGGS will be in very safe hands!
